How do you shingle?

I took some pictures for you today of my coop and my kids play house. They both have different style roofs so I hope it helps. I must get my 4 kids to bed first then I can upload!!!

Here are the photos - hope they help!

This one is the picture of the coop roof where I end it with a 8' section of metal drip edge. I will eventually place one more row of shingles covering the white drip edge and I will use roofing tar to secure it. The rest of the drip edge goes behind the white fascia board.

....and here is a picture of my kids play house roof that I built. It has a peak so I just overlapped the top row of shingles and used roofing tar to secure. It has been done for a couple of years and shows no signs of coming up at all.
