How do you tell the sex of a Black Runner duck?

I have a 5 month old black runner duck....how do I tell if its a drake or a hen?

You should be able to tell by it's quack or lack there of and if it's a boy it should have it's drake feather by now.

If it has a low raspy voice it is a drake. I had 7 females and listened to them for months trying to figure out which was a drake. When I got a drake I laughed because their sound is so different. It is a deep raspy voice.

The drake feather is on it's butt and curls up sort of in a circle. My runners are just now 4 months and the boys have thiers. Can you post a picture?

It does have a small curl that goes up towards its back and the rest go out straight

ok...thanks for your help. We've actually always called him a "he" since we got him at 5 days old...just always seemed right. Now I'm selling him and needed to know. It never mattered before because we just loved him for whatever he was
