How do you treat the ground/pen where chickens with roundworms work, rest, and play? Are there any

I found 4 roundworms in chicken poo this morning. I read a few 2011 posts about piperazine and 10 days later another chemical. Are there any dawn dish soap-garlic remedies that have been discovered since?

And what do you do with all of the eggs and worms in the dirt once they have been excreted?

Thank you for your help!

There are a lot of posts on this forum about worming. The worming method I use is to first use Wazine and then Ivermectin. Use the one that is most comfortable for you and what you think is right. A long time member with excellent worming advice is Dawg. See if you can find his posts.

If possible I would set up another run (temporary) and let mother nature do her cleaning routine with sun and rain. If there is grass in the run make sure it is mowed short.

Worms are just part of nature, in my view. I wouldn't be too keen on trying to rid the soils of these things. It takes poison to do such things and these would be released into the ground water and environment.

Rotating the pasture is a very good suggestion.

In the end? Chickens get worms. That's pretty natural. It isn't the worms chickens have, it is the load they carry. Having chickens completely clean of worms isn't all that likely a goal. What is a goal is to lower their worm load. Worming them once or twice a year typically accomplishes this goal. Hope that helps.
