I tried cardboard last year. I thought all was well, absorbing fine. until I lifted the entire piece up. MOLDY!!!! be careful with such an absorbent material.
Tarp — I was wondering if anyone used a tarp to cover the coop and run areas. I rent and for right now I have the coop on concrete. I finished making the coop,I have to figure out how to move the coop (dah — built this first time ever) didn’t put wheels on it but the run is light and moveable. I’m hoping down the coop daily but I don’t wanna be doing this as it gets cold or until I move. So I thought about putting a tarp down and zip tie the ends, fill it with shavings. The coop floor has linoleum so I will be doing layered method. But the run have to resolve. So tarp is what I’m thinking about. I live in Georgia right now and being led to move to San Bernardine, California. I’d like to hear other tarp ideas. Thank you
i got the idea to build A coop on this website. Wood is too expensive right now. Used pallet wood and PVC. My friend put a roof and shingles on the coop for me. My first time having chickens. I have 15, 14 hens and 1 special needs cross beck bantam roo
