How do you water your ducklings?

How long are you planning on keeping them in that aquarium? It’s very small.

We raised our three ducklings in a big storage tub and gave them an bowl of water set on top of a cooking tray with shelf liner on it so it wasn’t slippery. The cooking tray did a pretty good job of containing any water that was splashed out. One of ours got a mild respiratory infection so our highest priority was making sure she had enough water to dunk her entire head.

We used a chicken water container at first, till they learned to put it everywhere. I tried the container in the video, but that clearly didn't work. We now have a smaller container with the lid on it and a hole melted out of it, (so it doesn't have sharp edges.
Yup, buckets with holes and lids. Still using that method for drinking water with the adults. Makes it easy to transport water around my yard and they can’t get in it. Which doesn’t matter because there’s an inch of mud in the bottoms by the end of the day.

I like them. The hole is big enough for them to dunk their heads, but not get it.
Yes. You can always make the size of the hole fit your needs. Occasionally they stand on it and get a foot in it, but I use the containers that are short. But they can sit on the lid and touch the bottom of the container with their foot, so they can get their foot out just fine.

That's what I did, too. Worked well. We ended up sizing up a few times because they grow so. darn. fast. I put it on a pan with a cooling rack in it to catch their mess, but it was still verrrry messy.

I had 4 ducklings. They ended up in a big 4x4 brooder by week 4. I've never seen anything like it. I was so unprepared!

Here they are at day 1:

Here they are exactly 4 weeks later (you can see one of their bowls):
