Anyone ever tried mingling baby ducks and "teenage" size chickens? My chickens are around 4 months old. I would get small ducklings. I would have to put them in the same pen right now...just wondering if it is okay.

4 month old chickens could easily injure/kill young ducklings. It is very important to introduce birds of similar size so that one cannot pick on another. That being said, chickens can still injure grown ducks as they have a beak to peck with where ducks have a bill.

I would not advise adding ducklings to that age chicken. Make a seperate enclosure for ducklings and then get some.

I had young chicks and duckling in the same pen and they were all right but they were the same age so I agree with jdywntr about the age .

I fully agree and i'll be even more frank, i had my daughters silkies and my buff ducks sharing a brooder for 1wk before i said ENOUGH! between the water and the chicks pecking at the ducks? no way.
