How does one choose a roo to keep out of a hatch?

It all depends on what a person is looking for - breeding to the APA standard, color, your own standard?

For me - I am looking to improve my body size/type. So I put aside the cockerels I hatch - from the breed I want - and let them mature. I cull before they mature for leg color, eye color, comb, poor wing position - and any other obvious flaw.

Once they have matured, then make the final cut with over all body shape/size – for what I want. Can take up to 18 months.
