Right before the storm hits they all seem to act like loonies, then during the storm they get real quiet, even the chatty ones.I do have a couple that will holler when they hear a clap of thunder. I sat with them this morning for at least 30 minutes reassuring them that they were okay.
So how does your flock react?

Right about the same. The younger ones run for cover and the older gals & roosters stay out and enjoy the rain, unless of course its cold they will run for cover. They too get quiet but because I have the older flock it seems to calm the younger group.

My flock are all youngsters with 9 weeks being the oldest. The babies in the brooder inside will cheep when they hear the thunder then they run around.

Some of them act like the sky is falling while others will jump on the roost and hunker down. And a few "special" ones will be out in the run pecking the ground like nothing is happening.

Goofy girls!

It is funny watching the chicks run,but if I was small I would run to if I heard something BOOM!

I also have a couple of goof balls myself, standing out in it looking up when they get hit in the head with rain drops
