Ours were with momma and so she didn't venture too far, I put her and her six chicks in a Pack n Play, with a nest box, food, and water. I'd move it every few days and make sure on warmer days they were in the shade and tried to put it where there was some dirt. They lived there for about a month until I trusted them all to roam the 2 acres.
