We live within city limits where we arent permitted to own roosters but, people still do it. There's one somewhere around the neighborhood because I hear it from time to time, but it's not too bad. You'll hear it maybe 3 or 5 times tops throughout the day, but not a lot. Sometimes when I'm up really early, around 4am I'll try to listen for it with no luck until later in the day.
I had raised 3 chicks from a mixed flock, when I was a kid and I remember one started crowing in the brooder at 8 weeks so I know when they start can range depending on breed, etc. I know they can crow throughout the day for different reasons.

I don't know if it's a silly question but what I want to know, do they all crow in the morning; is there a particular time in the morning they crow? 3am, 4am, 5am? Does that also depend on breed or individual roos personality?

Also,.... does it make a difference when they crow if you're letting them out of the coop in the mornings?

Like @sourland said, they can start as early as young chicks in the brooder or I‘ve had some start as late as 6+ months old. One thing I have found with my roosters over the years is they crow substantially less when they are the only ones in the area and cannot hear another rooster. If they can hear another rooster they seem to constantly crow back and forth at each other. I have 3 roosters right now and they start at 3:30AM and crow off and on throughout the day until they roost for bed.

I live in Hawaii and we have feral chickens and some of them crow literally all hours of the day or night seems they don’t know they’re only supposed to crow when the sun is out😂
My own rooster only crows three or four times at 6 AM give or take a few, and that’s it. He’s a good boy!😊

Feral chickens, that sounds amazing! Lol my boy only crows 3-4 times in the morning too. I'm expecting him to start becoming aggressive from the stories I have read about cockerels maturing but I haven't seen much craziness. He only tries mating with one of my hens and not even all the time. 🤞 fingers crossed he's a nice boy.
I live within city limits so I'm going to rehome him soon to my mom's house (she lives in the country).
Curious, what the minimum is of hens per 1 rooster...?

There’s a lot of debate about this in the threads! Seems one rooster per 10 hens is the one most people agree on. If you have bantam breeds the ratio can be less. Some people have two roosters with a dozen hens and they get along just fine, a lot of it has to do with how much room they have. If you don’t have enough hens per rooster it can result in over mating of the hens that you have.😊
