Okay--I have a black silkie who is almost 8 weeks old. Up till now I assumed that Mumbles was a girl. However, I have heard this weird, strangulated noise coming from the brooder box the last few mornings and this morning it dawned on me that it could be a crow. Could it be that my little girl is in fact a boy???

Here is a pic of mumbles from a couple of weeks ago. Any thoughts?? I will try to get an updated pic today.

If Mumbles is a roo, he is one spoiled roo who is very sweet and will have a nice group of ladies when the other babies grow up. I am hoping some of them are girls!!!

Very Cute Baby!!

I have read post once about a rooster crowing at 2 weeks. Guess it just depends on the bird?? Mine are 8 weeks and no crows yet.
