How early do you let your chickens out?

I go out at 630 am put out the dog food and cat food (it's put away at night to discourage possums and raccoons), open the pop door and get the newspapers. I don't have any crowers, so I don't have to worry aabout disturbing the neighbors and if the sweet and gentle clucking bothers them, the heck with them, I say.

In the evening I wait for the girls to put themselves away (this time of year that's about 830 - 845 pm) and then I go into the run, shut the pop door, and make sure food and water is ready for the next morning.

Since I keep the food and water outside the coop I think it's important to have a schedule to let them out to get to it.

Another thing is that the coop is so dark inside when it is all shut up that I think (being birds) that they don't come fully awake until the pop door opens and lets light in for them to see. I can hear them in there plopping down off the perches and hitting the floor when the door opens.
