Will the date chickens hatch be exact or can it be a couple days off?

It is approximately 21 days, though factors such as temperature will effect that. Cooler temps= late hatches. Higher temps= sooner hatches. Also in my experience, bantam eggs tend to hatch a little bit earlier.

ok so what is the longest time a chicken should lay on an egg i think mine is about to go more than 25 days

no but they feel pretty heavy...the eggs are with a broody chicken so i wouldnt be able to see movement or hear chirping i only check on them once or twice a day and she is sitting on them so i cant tell

i candle them the 21st day with someone who knows their chickens and they said there was a baby in it...
