how far apart should roots be from each other...

if they are on the same wall?...and how far away from the wall should they be?..and...how much clearance from the celing should they have?..we will be adding the roots soon..so i just wanted to check before we installed them..and have a problem later on..thanks..Wendy.....p.s...i'm not sure..but i think my breeds are pretty good size...RIR, sex-link,white rock,hamburg,lakenvelder
 
I think the general rule is that if you do a ladder type roost, you place bars 12 inches up and across. 12 inches from the wall would probably be good, and with at lest 18inches of head clearance is what I'd use for my roosts.
