How far will a chicken roam

Sorry I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right place.... out of curiosity how far will chicken's roam from their coop if not contained?

Do they stray far and wide or tend to stick close by?

Mine tend to stick around. It took them a year to explore the entire yard LOL.

My hen is quite inquisitive and will explore a lot. However, it took her a while to build up the courage. She’ll travel quite far from her coop now. I’ve even caught her sneaking into my house and hopping up the stairs!
