How Get Flock In Coop At Night?

If there is a light in there when it is dark they should go in all on their own. I let mine out at 5:30 am and when i lock them up at 7:00 pm all chickens are in. Only the ducks are out.

Yep...if you have electricity available it sure is nice! Mine head in to the light as is gets dark. Then, when I go to do my nightly headcount check, they're all perched on their roosts and I shut the light off. But by now, whether I have the light on in there or not they know to head in as is gets dark.
And, as others have said, if you keep them in the coop for a few days (you could even take them out into the run for a little exercise, but then back in the coop), they'll learn that it's "home." And if you do that while they're still little, then it shouldn't be too crowded... Have fun!

I just posted on my blog about this, I can only leave them out to roam about an hour before bed or they go too far, but as soon as the sun starts going down they start making their way back in. I was so worried they wouldnt go back in at first but they just seem to know.

I let my chickens out when ever I feed in the morning.
I have my waterers in the coop so they have to go back in the coop to drink and lay their eggs, and they are always chickens on the roost in the day time.
I don't keep food out 24/7, I only feed them in the mornings and in the afternoons, so if I wonna get them to go in the coop then I just feed them and say: "Here chick-chick-chick!!!!"
Then I go and the the chicken door. And there you have it!!!
