How good are these layers

Have you treated the chickens for worms?

If they have to share their nutrition with parasites......then their egg production will go down.

I'm a VERY big fan of the gold sexlink/golden comets..... It sounds like that is the breed to stick with for you when you replenish your flock.

My chickens did not lay well on layena. Our local feed store closed so I had to start using it and egg production went down and I was having shell issues. Try a different feed. I am now using extra egg and have had no more problems.

I'd say you have some who are laying out....look for hidden nests. Lock them into the coop for a week and see how many eggs you are getting then.

My production red is my best layer. She's small, but lays an egg a day in the summer. Hopefully your's will start laying more soon.
