Do you show and the other Thing i wanted to ask is how hard is it to do well in the show and what do you have to do before, during and after.

Thanks for the help

yes i show, if you buy and breed quailty birds it not hard to win, you just have keep ur birds in good codtion and health and may shure they dont get lice at the show

showing chickens is very easy compared with other animals. make sure feather quality is good, and bathe them a few days before the show, you can do a rinse in vinegar and then a final rinse in water (obviously its important to use warm water in a warm place like indoors and keep the chicken warm and draft free till dry), when you bring the chicken to the show it will go in a cage. You can be responsible for feeding and watering. If you are in 4-H you can do fitting and showing with your chicken. You will stand it on a table and the jusge may ask you to show different parts , and you will be asked some questions about chickens. (Definately make sure you are aware of your chickens breed, what type of comb it has, gender terminology etc) If you are under 19 you can be in 4-H club, its a great way to gain some knowledge

after the show make sure and keep it quarantined from your flock to prevent any diseases from spreading ( a chicken can pick up a disease and not show signs of it for weeks)
