Botany Classes!
Mendels law, what a pain-- but very helpful!
But so far, haven't really gotten into it with the chickens as much as I do the garden!!!

Yes, my website is a "winzipped" kind of information, like a beef jerky of genetics. I just want to point the readers to an aspect/little fact so they can google them up or ask me about it.
Pitty my english is often leaning towards dunglish (dutch english, we call it charcoal english

) and I have been tainted by reading a lot of scientific papers.

I put a lot of effort in it (neglecting my chickens to a point) but I am glad that it helps some of you. Thanks Mountaintopchicken!

What a great pages you have! Beautiful birds!!!!

Also, what a sweet farm you have... how do you ever leave?

We are trying to create a mini cottage farm in the middle of the city with gardens and chickens etc... what a lot of work!

I like the thought that it is stable and concrete if you know how to do it and understand the LINGO. My foregn languages are religated to research & translation of dead (mostly) languages. But I only (other than English) only know semitic & protosimittic languages. Not much about chickens in hebrew, aramaic, egyptian hyrogliphics or accadian.

I am agreement. Just looking at henk 69 pages is learning in and of itself.

It seems like everyone somehow gets to henks calculator. Thanks henk!!!! What great work!

So, botany & genetics... when I left Grad School I thought I was never going back! I do miss learning. What a treat. THanks everyone for all the information... keep it coming. This could be a great resource for anyone wanting to learn about chicken genetics.

So, does everyone agree that Hutt's book is good???

Thanks again everyone!

I started End of Januari 2008, already had some chickenpictures made.
A first version of the chickencalculator was finished in 2 weeks. Now there are 40+ species calculators. And I finished a trial version for inbreeding calculations last week.

Oh dear... now I need to put the Netherlands on my "must see" list of travel places. The first photo of the house and field pulled me in... absolutely gorgeous.
