We just bought 3 different breeds yesterday from a local guy and wondered others opinions on if they are as old as they say and if they're where they should be weight wise.

All hens

Plymouth Barred Rock - 1lb 1.8oz
Plymouth Barred Rock - 1lb 5.0oz
Rhode Island Red - 1lb 8.0oz
Rhode Island Red - 1lb 4.6oz
Buff Orpington - 1lb 5.3oz
Buff Orpington - 1lb 0.8oz

Thanks in advance

Probably OK. Not 14 weeks, no. Closer to 10-12, but so much varies on how fast they were pushed with high protein feed, or just carried along, or .....? Too many variables to say with specificity. Different strains also grow out at slightly speeds too.

Actually, photos work better all the way around. Have something tangible in the shot to gauge how tall they are.
