Hi Im just converting my old tree house into my new chicken coop and was just wondering the specifications for the roosting bar. Also if anybody knows anything about the manure drop system, in which you collect their faeces when the sleep in a troug below please advise me on how to set it up!!
Thanks Harry.

That should work. I have two 4 foot roosts in my tractor for 7 birds. It is not uncommon to see all 7 of them lined up on one roost. I don't think there is such a thing as too much place to roost though.

That isn't rocket science, I don't think. All you need is a troth or a plank that sits on the floor below the roost. I would favor a flat plank, so you could make a slot in the side of the coop to slide it in and out. In the morning just pull it out, scrape off the poo, let it dry for a while then slide it back in.
