I am thinking of building this coop as a run for my chickens. I will attach it to my coop with a small door and a ramp so the chickens can have access. I checked on material to build it and would have less than 50 bucks invested. My property is 3/4 acre that is fenced in but there is dog on both sides that might be a problem. John

if I wanted to keep chickens in a pen, at a minimum I'd put old volleyball nets or fishing net or orange-highway-fencing net over the top of the coop ... no protection from predators to speak of, just an anti-fly-out precaution
