How high can they fly?

ooohhh Maybe I just need to wait 3 months and mine will stop doing that. It would make me less anxious if they stayed in their run. . .

I
am thinking of building this coop as a run for my chickens. I will attach it to my coop with a small door and a ramp so the chickens can have access. I checked on material to build it and would have less than 50 bucks invested. My property is 3/4 acre that is fenced in but there is dog on both sides that might be a problem. John

the free-range standard size EE crosses usually roosted about 15 feet up in the mango tree every night ... and they didn't WALK up ... they are good size and several years old ... laying well

if I wanted to keep chickens in a pen, at a minimum I'd put old volleyball nets or fishing net or orange-highway-fencing net over the top of the coop ... no protection from predators to speak of, just an anti-fly-out precaution

Adam, then they aren't fat enough.
