How high for roosts?

I'm setting up a 12x12 stall in the barn for my turkeys. How high is good for their roosts? Do they need steps for getting up there like my fat chickens do?

I would stagger the roosts at 2', 4' and 6' like stairs and not directly under each other.

Yup, R2elk has the right idea. Turkeys usually like a higher roost, think it is an instinct thing. Wild Turkeys roost up in the trees, sometimes as high as 12-15 ft from what I have observed

Great idea to stagger them , that way if you change they type of birds in there it will still work for them , have fun

The highest should be at least 2' from the wall with each lower roost being about 2' in front of the next higher roost.
