How high is too high to climb? (Ducks)

I am considering re-using a structure that is currently 3 foot off the ground. I have seen chicken coops that are as high, or higher, so I assume that for a chicken, as long as a ladder is provided, that would be just fine.
But the (possible) end goal for that structure would be ducks. I lost them all this summer due to dry weather and low water plus active predators and no adequate shelter.

I have not seen any specs for ducks. I know they can climb a hill just fine, but would I be pressing my luck, expecting them to accept such a high access?
They are dirty beasts, of course, so leaving the floor at 3 ft would make cleaning a lot easier on me.

My duckies can walk up a graduated stairs just fine as long as there are slats attached so they can get a grip. Of course, on the way out, they just fly!!

Mine aren't great with ramps, but they have mastered running up the stairs at just 6 weeks. They are master stair climbers.
Down, still working on it. They know what they need to do, but sometimes somebody still trips and falls or tumbles down some of the steps. Maybe a deeper step would help that issue on the way down.

Mine have a ramp to their coop. It's wood and a little slick, so I bought the outdoor tread tape- the kind you'd put on steps and ran it lengthwise down the ramp. Three strips on the ramp (it's about 18 inches wide or a little less) and they don't slip. (sometimes one will fall off the edge - they get in a hurry like a little duckie stampede)

They haven't been in it all summer....hang out in the pool. Hopefully they remember it's there when the evenings get cold.

Thanks! The way I read it, it can be done (having ducks climb up a ramp) but they are not very good at it.
So does that mean that most duck coops are low(er)?

I made steps with cinder blocks and pavers. Duck coop is 2 feet off the ground. They go in and out very easily.
