The plan is to re-purpose part of an old barn into a coop. Can the windows (4 1/2 - 5 feet high) be used as doors into the coop? I have plenty of room to make a long ramp in and out.

From the standpoint of chicken access, that should not be a problem (although you may have a little extra work to train them how to do it, til they figure it out).

There is someone on here, in VT I think?, who has several chickens on the second floor of a garage/barn, and they have to descend like 12' or something like that to get to the ground, and apparently she got it to work ok [IMG]

    Good luck, have fun,
