How high off the ground should nipple waterer be?

I just made a waterer out of a 5-gallon bucket with 2 push-in nipples in the bottom of it.

How high should the nipples be off the ground for standard-sized adult chickens?

as high as their heads stretched up. (PS where did you find the nipples?)

I bought mine from farmtec... the shipping is riduculous.... but the nipples are GREAT!
