Is the person advertising actually from Germany? Because all these photos were also used last year to advertise birds on a German website.. like, the exact same photos.

I think scam if they're using someone else's photos.

Well the egg color is "enhanced" with lighting or filters or Photoshop.
Ask the breeder for an unedited picture of their eggs in regular light.
Even the egg color chart has been fiddled with. That's not how the real colors appear.

I love blue eggs! But even chickens with two copies of the gene can only make them so blue (without being fed additional biliverdin, there is a thread on here where an Asian farm tried that and got those super saturated eggs).

I would worry that a fake egg portrayal might indicate other fake practices...

I was kinda worried that might be the case, I'll ask for unedited photos. They do seem to have quite a lot of info on their projects and know a bunch about the breed, but idk, maybe they're not as honest as they seem

Hello & happy new years everyone, since it's 2026 I'm trying to get a good plan and set some goals for my flocks! I'm trying to get my project flocks breeding true... But my large egg layer flock is a bit lacking. I'm down to 6 chickens in that flock including the rooster, and 3 of 5 hens are no longer laying. I'm planning on adding to this flock and I've been looking for some fancy blue layers and I found a breeder with some seemingly amazing Ameraucanas and I was wondering if any of y'all might be able to tell me how close these are to the American breed standard? They've been working on their own line crossing birds from England, America, and a few others across Germany. These birds seem fairly high quality in my nonprofessional eyes and the eggs are wonderful in coloration! I'm wanting to do some poultry shows and I'm pretty sure these are show quality going off American standards and European standards, but what do y'all think? Can anybody here fault my Cackle hatchery cockerel for me at about 5.5 months? Should even a black Am have a bay eye? His is dark.
