How hot is too hot?

I never saw that , the ramp needs cleats across it so they don’t just slide off ...

I have them cut. I should be healed enough to screw them in before the chicks are old enough to need them. How far apart would you suggest?

Shade, water and air movement are good ideas. A misting system will help too if the humidity is not too high

They will roast in that without shade and air flow..

They won’t be in sunlight. There’s another vent opposite the one in the picture. Is that not enough ventilation?

Pretty sunny on the house and it will heat up too...

It might be for night time. In the day time you would need more ventilation. A bigger vent at the top and one on the bottom.

What about opening the hatch over the nesting boxes and laying screen over it?

Yes! That is a good idea. That way you can close the door in colder weather
