My six week olds are panting today- it got to about 84 degrees. Tomorrow I'm going to cut some ventilation holes into the back of their tractor. They stay in the back for the shade but it's OSB back there so I imagine it gets pretty oven-like. I know the Cornish X's don't do too well in the heat, but at what temps do they start to drop off? I had another batch of 50 scheduled for delivery in a couple of weeks, but I called today and held the order off til the end of August, so I'll be butchering in October. Can't imagine them in temps into the 90's.
