How I kill massive amounts of flies without chemicals, etc...

Do you know what type of flies are they? if they are cluster flies there are ways to prevent them or at least slow them down, do a google search there is a tone of info out there. My dad had them rely bad year after year he uses shop vac and kennel spray which helps control the adults but not larvi.

Good luck get a duck . i think that's my new saying lol

I hung the vanilla scented car freshners today and no luck for me either, the flies fly right around them.

I know only few products, and one of them it is Pest Venator Bug Zapper. As for me, it is best bug zapper ever i heared and test.

I reccomended it to you as a good device.

Venator bug zapper bulb has 3 modes, which work consistently:

Turn On a light switch - It is the first mode - “Light + Zapper”. You will see white and blue color lights.

To switch to the the second mode “Zapper”, Turn OFF and then Turn ON the light switch. You will see blue color lights.

If you want to use “Only light” mode, then Turn OFF and then Turn ON the light switch again. You will see white color lights.

It won’t bother you in your sleep: When an insect touches the electric grid, you will hear a quiet crack that won’t wake you up.

I did the shop vac method every night when I started to have a fly issue with mine living inside - it kept them.down tremendously. I only ever had 12 at most, but that was enough.

I realize this is an old thread.......but.........

The solutions I see here are not unlike a person with a rock in their shoe. Because of the rock, their foot hurts....so they take an aspirin. Seems like it would be easier to get rid of the rock.

If you have flies, the first question to ask is why? What is attracting them? Get rid of that and the flies go away. A shop vac? Really?

Most likely what is attracting them is a combination of wet, spilt feed and droppings. If on mud, that doesn't help either. To the extent spilt feed is involved, the right feeders will help. After that, deep litter (at least 6 inches + to start) will go a long ways towards helping with the fly problem. Best deep litter I've found is old grass hay. But old leaves, pine needles, grass hay and wood chips etc, will also help. Something that was once a part of a living plant that when combined with the Nitrogen in the droppings, will combine with the carbon in the plant to start to decompose both. A cold compost process. Healthy living.

Smell goes away, as do the flies.

Also, the Spalding fly predators are a big help! I place them out of reach of the chickens, and generally around places where there's manure (horses! cattle!) and it makes a difference. They come monthly, starting in early summer, by mail.
I've never seen issues like some of these posters describe! Deep bedding is the best.
