How I know Spring is on its way...(PICS)

Here are two reasons that I know spring is on its way!

One: The broody with babies brought them outside today!

They are so cute, acting like big chickens, but when mom is out of sight you shoud see the way they run/fly back to her!

Two: The laying flock caught a big fat disgusting frog

They were so pleased with themselves that I couldnt take it away (not that I could really get close with all the running and chasing going on)

Here you see my white cochin with the prize, she didnt have it long though, she is too slow

Here you see one of the redstars with the yummy treat

She had it for awhile being so little and fast,

So thats how I know spring is on its way finally!

The chickies are SO cute!! I wonder if I spent hours each day with my new chicks, would they get that connected to me? Never tried it . . .

And the frog -

I'd almost worry of whatever toxin it may have, but I don't really know the fauna of frogs in your area. I just know that our toads have some sort of slimy toxin on their skins. . . I'm glad my chickens have yet to find them. I wonder if they'll catch themselves any mice or garter snakes this summer though.

I am worried that they will get toads because I know they are poisionous but last year I saw them catch this exact kind of frog and there were no mysterious deaths so

Garter snakes are even better! Espcially when the guinea gets one and has to 'battle' it

Ohhhh, I love the pics of the BO mama and her chickies

!! I have BO and I love them!! They love to sit on their eggs even though they have no rooster
