I know humidity is important to the development of the chick. I was wondering, however, when it is MOST important.

I want to do a staggered hatch and don't know if I should have lockdown at 60% at the beginning of the other eggs' development or towards the end...

if that makes sense

60% is no good for early developing chicks. It does not let the egg lose the correct amount of weigh. The correct humidity at all stages of incubation is very important. Low low they shrink wrap, to high they drown. Either way they are dead.
