I am praying for all those in line of the horrice tornados........hoping noone is injured or have suffered loss .......... please speak up if you are there and okay......and everyone please pray for all those affected.....nature is so scarey sometimes

All is well in my town, though not in lots of other towns in Arkansas.
The worst towns hit were Atkins, several of our former church members were injured (5 dead there) the Town of Clinton is still being sorted through, it's a beautiful, mountainous, forrested town, the trees have kept rescue efforts from getting to people...national guard is helping both of those towns...(4 dead there at last tally)
then the little community of Gassville is leveled...the hospital included...the community is isolated, and they are getting some people in by helicopters...they are still trying to find people...a nursing home was also hit there.
Please keep Arkansas in your prayers...

We was hit pretty hard here. Had 3 lightening strikes....direct hits. Blew the phone box off the back of the house....burnt....then burnt all the inside phone jacks, fried the phones. even a burn mark on the carpet. Phone guy said we was VERY LUCKY to have not had a fire. Fried one of the satelite receivers...hit a tree in the back yard at the base of the tree...it dug a trench about 3 ft long, 1 to 2 feet wide, exposeing the roots..and mud flew everywhere! That was Tuesday morning....Tuesday night...more rain....I was up at 5:30 am Tues. morning, and was up untill 4:30 Wed morning, baleing out the basement. As fast as we could suck it up with wet vac, and towels, it was pouring in. Now when the rain stops...I have to bleach the whole basement..walls, floors, everything. At least we all made it alive...cold,wet,and scared...but alive.

We are fine in this part of Arkansas but like Parsonswife said not all of Arkansas faired as well. This morning the last count of confirmed dead in Arkansas was 13 and that was before they resumed the search efforts.

We heard from one of our former church members in Atkins, their house was completely leveled...they were in it...in the bathroom. His wife, 3 grandchildren, and himself....he's asking for prayers.
Tim Petit. The two smaller children were blown outside...the little 2 year old granddaughter was blown out to the mailbox...she has a broken leg and serious internal injuries...the grandson was blown into the neighbors yard...has had multiple cuts requiring numerous stitches (he's 9)...they are now homeless, along with many other families....the tally of deaths here is 14 at last count, I heard.

Parsons...........oh man........how scared they must have been..... SO thankful they lived through it although those poor children.........do they have a place to stay? I pray they had insurance and for medical help too....... I feel so helpless so far away......... hope we hear from everyone in byc that is down that way...... I am praying constantly for you all !

Other than a mess from tree limbs and yard stuff that blew around everything is okay here.
A neighbor came on his tractor around 8 last night and used a chainsaw to remove the tree from our road so I wasn't "trapped" for all that long. Almost after the fact my SO remembered that I could take a small path thru a neighboring farm's property to get out to the main road; but my car is very low to the ground (been thinking on getting a truck) and I didn't want to risk damage or a wrecker bill. Think I need to step up my driving lessons on the 4X4 so I won't be stuck next time.

Just an update from here.... 3 people are already confirmed to have died in the storm that hit not more the 10 miles north of me, with some still not accounted for......

Here at our house all we had was some downed branches. Nothing big. We had our patio furniture end up strewn across the yard, but again, no big deal. But, one of the nasty part of the storms was just too close for comfort.

I am so happy that what happened here was so minor, and that none of it was anything to be problematic. DH was out early this morning cutting branches and trees off of peoples property that we attend church with us. One family that is really good friends of ours, is currently building a brand new house, and they had a huge tree go through the roof, the house wasn't even finished yet. DH was there helping get that off so they can figure out what they need to do to fix what happened.

The damage in my area seems to be more straight line winds then tornadoes, at least in our small little community.

We dodged a major bullet here. We live near the ridge 40 miles north of Nashville. For some reason the first of the storms split, one super cell went to our north the other to the south. We were fortunate that we were missed. It could've easily hit us. It is a major mess! Even CNN has their people here reporting on it.
I was impressed to hear our President say that he wanted the states hit to know that the American people are lifting us up in prayer. In this day and age of political correctness it is a comfort to see people stand on the power of prayer. Because I will tell you last night all you could do was pray.

My prayers are with the grieving families during this terrible aftermath. Lord I lift them up to you. Give them the strength to endure. Amen
