I have this crazy hen who has been on and off the nest the whole time. Three days before hatch she leaves to sit on an empty nest. I put her back and hoped for the best,. 2 days later I check and she is off again with 2 chicks sitting in the nest and some more hatching. I put her back on. Next day she got off the nest with the 2, I put the other 3 in the incubator. On the 2 that had started hatching when she got off the membrain had dried and hardened. I ended up having to help them. The other egg had died. So now I have 2 in the house, 2 days behind the others with the hen. Is there anyway to get her to take them???

sneak them under and night, cross your fingers and hope.

Stay close by to watch what she does in the morning....

she should take to them,
I put 10 chicks that are 11 days old under a broody last week as she only hatched out 3 chicks!! and now they are a big happy family!

tried last night but she rejected them this morning.
