How long after a Roo

I don't exactly know how to ask this....but how long after a Roo mates with a hen are the eggs fertile.....

Say the Roo was with the hens Wed night, all day Thursday and they were seen mating....would Fridays eggs be fertile??????

From my understanding the eggs of a hen with a roo are fertile for two to three weeks after separating them.

This is a good question, I don't know the answer. I just check eggs when we eat them to see if they're fertile, and once most of them are then I hatch some.

Does anyone know how long after they mate the eggs BECOME fertile?????

I've read that it can take up to as long as a week for the eggs to be fertile... and then sometimes more than two weeks of fertile eggs after the 'event'... Guess the sperms got staying power

You could check one of the eggs and see before setting any.
