How long after hatch until the chick should start walking?

So it's been roughly 8 hours and my chick(golden polish),now dry and fluffy, is laying around curled up. Not worrying. But it's only moves backwards and falls on it's back. Is this normal? The other chick seems to be picking on it and the chick just lays the or flops on it's back.

I have almost no experience with hatching, but my chicks were walking in less than 2 minutes. Hopefully you can find some help!

I'm pretty sure thats normal for chicks. Mine were a bit unsteady but got to their feet in a day or two

Okay it was worrying sleeping with its head between it's legs and flopping on it's back when it tried to walk. Just baby legs I guess ahahaha

i just had a hatching about 4 weeks ago almost all of them were on their feet in less than 10 minutes. they were falling everywhere . They got over their baby feet in a day or two.

I would give her some more time. But just to be safe, maybe check her legs. Do one or both jut out from under her? Do they seem twisted? Are her toes curled? All of these could affect walking. If not, I wouldn't worry. Best wishes!

Yes, that's what I was thinking. But splayed legs is a very prominent problem, so I thought the OP would have said something about it in the post. Even if it is splayed legs, it's an easy fix! yipee!
