how long after mating do turkeys lay eggs?

ive just got my first set of mature turkeys, (hens). they have not laid any eggs for the first 2 weeks that ive had them, now ive put a tom in with the hens, and they have done the deed, now how long till the hens will start laying eggs?

turkeys are like chickens they don't need a tom for them to lay eggs, now for babies they need a tom. Now turkeys are a seasonal layer, which means they don't lay eggs in winter

Depends on the area where you are and temps. Some hens do lay in the winter. Mine do.

My BR start up in mid April. I recently read the month of starting to lay can vary by which breed you have. Most of the other common ones start sooner.

Now that the male is doing his duty, the eggs you get, when the arrive, should be fertile. ARe you planning to hatch eggs??

now i live in nc and our temps are between 40 and 65 latly does that matter
