How long after the duckings hatch, will my mama duck lay eggs again?

My mama duck hatched her babies out 2 weeks ago, and she hasn't laid any eggs since. What are they doing? Are they just building up inside her? Will there be an egg explosion? What can I expect? Will I need a hazmat suit? Is she okay? please help!

I always heard it would be at least a couple weeks, but I had a hen this summer who started laying a week after we took the ducklings. Being this late in the season, she might not lay again this year.
