How long are milky way candies good for?

I was going through my holiday stuff when I came across an old milky way candy bar inside a plastic easter egg. Well, I ate it.

I didn't even think about it being old!

It tasted fine, just a little hard around the edges. Most likely it was from last easter. So now I am thinking "How long are milky ways good for?" Should I had not eaten it. Obviously its done now...

But still.... I'm scared.

I dont know either. but some plastic wrapped chocolate snack cakes are good for a long time. We had one in a garage for a year and it was still good when we had the chocolate munchies.
