How Long Before Being Ready for Their Coop?

We are going on vacation next week and so we have waited to get our chicks. I am going to order them to arrive after we return from vacation. But my DH hasn't wanted to start on the coop until we return, either. So I am trying to plan on the chicks arriving so that we have plenty of time to build the coop.

that probably didn't make much sense, but eh...

So from the day the chicks arrive until they go in their new home, how many weeks is it? We are planning on ordering Australorps.

I think, depending on the weather, but around 5weeks at least.

Thanks! I may have to wait until we start. It will probably take us about 2 months to build the coop. Course then we are getting deep into summer.. Decisions, decisions.
