How long before breaking thru shell

Once a chick starts peeping.. whats the longest it can take to pop thru.. I have one who started this morning and the hole is only a tad bit larger now???? Like, not big at all??
 
24 hours + The chick has to be ready. Blood vessels have to close, yoke has to be absorbed and position has to be right to zip around the egg.

One of mine started this afternoon. The egg is wiggling but the hole is still pretty small.
I'm just gonna go to bed and let nature do what it does.
I think the oxygen has to get in and help dry up the shell veins as well, so it'll happen when it happens. Must drive a Momma hens nuts.
