How long before eggs are safe?

I rescued some chickens from a not very nice place. I have no idea what they were fed there. How long should I wait before eating their eggs? I'm letting them free-forage, with some extra protein to help them re-grow their feathers.

Depends on how picky you are about your food. If you would buy eggs from Wallyworld you could eat them now.
If you buy your eggs from Whole Foods and Trader Joes, I'd wait 10-14 days.

We get ours from an organic farm. I'm super picky about all our food. Thank you for commenting! I'm thinking a couple weeks would be best, too.
