How long before my muskovy snaps out of it?

Long story short, my muskovy stole my Cayugas nest. There were 17 eggs in the nest. miss squeak took over and my docile princess started a new nest elsewhere in the coup. I marked on the calendar 28 days after she went broody and 35 days after she went broody. Just in case some of the eggs were muskovy. Well she weeded the eggs down to 7 by day 28. A week later nothing had hatched and we were down to 5. Another week later we were down to 3. I was getting worried she may never give up so while she was eating I quickly snatched the last 3, gave a whiff and almost vomitted. We could see the dead babies inside. I got rid of the eggs. Now miss squeak is just wandering around aimlessly. She follows the chickens but won’t go swimming with the other ducks. She is eating and drinking. She’s just breaking my heart. What can I do? Will she get over it soon?

How's your muscovy hen doing? They usually snap out of it in about a week or two.

Yes. She is doing well and been laying an egg a day for the last week. She wondered around for about two days. Then would follow the other ducks but didn’t integrate, just hung back. You are right. It was about a week and she was her old self again. now my other muskovy hen has gone broody and miss squeak has her man back all to herself.
