I had 9 chicks I bought in april... all turned out to be roos. :-(
So sunday I found someone with some young hens for sale. We got two. Then traded all of our roos but one for more babies.
We did free range our roos all day, and then lock them up at night.
Since getting the two new girls, I have not let my roo out, and have had the girls locked up with him.
I want to let the three of them out, my roo (Fred) knows his home and where he sleeps ;-)
How long will it take the new girls to know, or will they follow Fred ???
Should I keep them locked up longer to know this is home now???
Thanks for any advice!
