I've never done bobwhite quail and have decided to hatch some eggs. This will be their third day in the incubator. When should I be able to candle them?

I candled a few last night and really couldn't see much, for some reason I was thinking I should be by day 3 with quail eggs. Thanks!

Coturnix, yes. Bobs are more in line with chicken eggs on incubation time.
Bobwhite eggs need 24 days to hatch, give or take a day, depending on the temperature of the incubator.

@Kirkwooder , since this is you're first time with Bob's, do you have a permit to raise them? Most every state, province, require a permit to raise these gamebirds.
Don't mean to be the 'Quail police' but there are pretty hefty fines if caught without a permit.

Yes, we have done pheasants and Chukar's in the past and have a permit from the DEC. It covers Bob's as well.
