How long between hatches

We have a sitting hen who has hatched two successfully on Mondaya week ago, momma is still sitting steady on 6 more we thought we heard chirping earlier in the week but are wondering if the last 6 are viable or should we just give up on them? Any help would be extremely welcome this is our first home hatched.

If all the eggs were put under her at the same time then it is unlikely that any more of the eggs are going to hatch. However if any other hen added eggs to the nest after the broody had begun hatching then there is a small chance of more chickens but it is unlikely given the long gap at this stage. You could try CAREFULLY putting the eggs up to your ear and listening for the telltale chirping or try candling the eggs to be sure. It may be time for Mother Hen to get on with the job of raising the little ones she already has.
