How long can a chicken survive on water?

Thanks for all of these lovely suggestions! I kept him on a water only diet for 1 week and 3 days, to see what would happen. Thankfully, he’s doing a lot better! He opened one of his eyes, but it’s still kind of foggy. He’s also starting to eat out of my hand! He keeps on scratching his eye, though. Do any of you guys know why he’s doing that?

Can you post pictures? Is he having any discharge from his eyes?
