How long can eggs chill?? Please help!

I am completely panicked! My babysitter let my 2 year old collect eggs and they took my eggs that my silkie was laying on and were on day 16. They were in the house on the counter for at least 3 hours. I got home and immediately put them back. Are they all lost? I really hope not. I just feel sick.

Believe it or not they are probably ok. My dingbat hubby has collected eggs from under a broody twice now because she wasn't on them at the moment

At least yours aren't mixed up!!!! Mine were!
