I've raised chickens for over 20 years but just started using an incubator about 3 years ago. Last year I started with Guineas and have 15 Guineas with 8 Females and 7 males, best as I can tell. I let them free range till I started getting eggs and now keep them in the run/pen. I'm getting from 2 to 3 eggs a day right now. How many days can I keep the eggs before I need to put them in the incubator and start the process of hatching them. I have a Hovabator(?) incubator, I think, that holds 42 eggs. I'd like to fill the incubator but unless they step up the laying, I'm going with the 2 to 4 a day. I started collecting eggs 5 days ago Since I know they hide the eggs when their out running loose I'm keeping them pened up. Would it be better keeping the eggs warmer or cooler to keep the eggs. Also asked a local hatchery how to tell if the eggs are viable and every egg dropped so right now everything looks good. Will they start laying better in a few days or weeks as the weather goes from cold to warm here in middle georgia. First time posting here and like the way everything is set up. Any help will be appreciated.
