I started collecting eggs from our blue-scaled quails last Sunday, June 12, and I want to know how long I wish to store the eggs before popping them into the incubator. Just how long should they be kept? A week, or 2 Perhaps more than that?

Thanks in advance!

A week at the most after that hatchability starts to really drop. I have hatched out quail eggs that were two weeks old and had 60% hatch and these were shipped eggs that had got lost in the mail.

So you could store them longer but if you want the best hatch put them in 7 or less days.

Good luck!!

Thank you! Let's see if I can get any more suggestions from other users before this coming Sunday. Also, when the eggs are kept for more than 1 week, even though hatching rates will drop, will the eggs continue to hatch in the future?
